Website Design For London (Soho) Design Agency
Oct 29th
We are proud to highlight one of our latest website design projects for the Soho Design Agency FTP that specialise in packshot photography for products. We recommend their services to our ecommerce web design clients that need professional images of their products for their online businesses. Having good images on your ecommerce web design makes a huge difference in the overal impression your browsers get when visiting your website making the products more inticing.
The guys at FTP had a very specific brief as the majority of their clients use big 30” screens so the reolution had to be right and the website had to fill the biggest of screens aswell as the smallest.
We acheived this by a clever piece of coding which created a scaleable background image so what ever size monitor the images look good. We also added a nice touch when you go into the website, which ever image is currently being shown as you click ‘enter ftp digital’ will fade to a blurred version and become the websiet background image.
We also implemented an advance technique to re-write the font so we could stylise it to exactly hiow FTP wanted it without the need for the user to More >

Google has 6.4% of Internet Traffic
Oct 28th
According to online security company Arbor Networks, Google now accounts for (on average) 6.4% of all internet traffic. Since January alone it has increased by 1% which is a new record for Google.
Google’s share may be even bigger, possibly up to 8% to 12%, if you account for traffic offloaded by Google Global Cache deployments, Arbor Networks’ Craig Labovitz claims.
So far, Google’s revenue seems to be keeping up with its traffic; we wonder which one will grow faster?
Paypal Debuts Mobile Express Checkout to improve Ecommerce Web Design
Oct 28th
Mobile payment processes have long been the bane of would-be mobile commerce titans. The balance between security and ease of use has been difficult to achieve, but Paypal’s beta partners for Mobile Checkout Express have seen great results from using the product so far.
Starbucks, one initial partner for Mobile Checkout Express, will use Paypal’s newest mobile payment product to let customers quickly reload their Starbucks Cards from within the company’s iPhone app.Mobile Checkout Express will allow users to opt into the service and stay logged in between various mobile apps.
Paypal says the new product is also easy to use for existing merchants who already use Paypal Express Checkout on their web-based stores.
Many of Paypal’s beta-tester merchants for Mobile Express Checkout have reported double-digit sales growth on their mobile ecommerce web design platforms since adding the feature. Paypal plans to give Mobile Checkout Express merchants the ability to accept credit card payments in addition to PayPal (through a VeriFone partnership) in early 2011.

Google Gives Local Businesses an Advertising Boost
Oct 26th
Google has just launched Boost, a location-based ad product for local businesses which underlines the search engine giants stance on localised searches.
Built on Google Places, Boost beta is available in San Francisco, Houston and Chicago right now and will roll out to more cities soon.
Boost ads show up when users search for local businesses; they appear in the “sponsored links” section of Google’s (Google) web search and Google Maps (Google Maps), as well. Ads will appear when the right combination of vertical keyword (e.g., “restaurants”) and location keyword (e.g., “San Francisco”) is met.
The ads can contain basic location information, such as the address, business name and phone number, as well as more consumer-focused tidbits, including a star ratings, number of reviews received and a special Maps marker.
Business owners can create Boost ads from within their Google Places account. Initial setup is simple, and campaign management is automatic; all the business owner needs to do is set a budget, and Google’s advertising algorithm takes care of the details of placement and frequency.
We see this product as a preemptive strike against Facebook Places advertising. To date, Facebook has only announced cursory guidelines for Places use by businesses; no ads are yet being More >
Android Market Surpasses 100,000 Apps
Oct 26th
Android (Android) has just rocketed past a major milestone: 100,000 applications available in the Android Marketplace.
The announcement was made with just a tweet from the Android Dev Twitter account. “One hundred thousand apps in Android Market,” was all the tweet needed to say to spread the news. The search giant recently expanded the Android Marketplace to 20+ countries in an effort to kick its developer ecosystem in high gear.
Google’s open-source mobile OS has been on a tear, but its rapid growth has come at the cost of OS fragmentation across hundreds of devices. And while Android may be flooding the market at breakneck speed, Apple’s iOS App Store is the dominant mobile store by leaps and bounds. There are more than 280,000 iOS apps available, nearly triple the offerings on Android.
Do you think Android can catch upwith Google?
The Present Future of Link Building
Oct 26th
The number of people who tried to get their posts to go viral (by writing list posts and publishing images) increased dramatically and, at the same time, Twitter and Facebook REALLY took off. People that wanted to ‘share good stuff’ found these services easier to use for sharing than having a WordPress or Blogspot blog. The result? If you create linkbait and it goes popular, then you should expect a lot of re-tweets/stumble thumbs-ups/Facebook ‘likes’ but a very small number of links from different unique root domains. Do these links from Facebook/Twitter carry any special importance?
Matt Cutts once said in a YouTube video that they rate links from Facebook and Twitter just like any other link! Yay!
One recent lesson I’ve learned about ‘niche’ link building is that you can get viral in your niche community. Take SEO and this blog, for example. I’ve witnessed how different SEOs follow each other and, in case someone has something interesting to share, then other people in the industry re-tweet him and the chain goes on. This is not the case for every niche market unfortunately.
What’s the Future of Natural Link Building? Is it DEAD?!??!Okay, 3 points here:
