Google New Twitter Ad Format
In October 2009, Google announced a deal with Twitter to include tweets in its search results. Now Google is looking to make good on its investment with a new kind of display ad that lets advertisers attract more followers to their Twitter accounts.
Ads appear in a box with the Twitter bird icon in the lower left-hand corner and the advertisers’ latest tweet in the center. To the lower right is a button prompting viewers to follow the advertiser on Twitter (Twitter), which they can do without having to leave Google (Google). Clicking on any other part of the ad directs the user to the advertiser’s Twitter page, however.
