Both originally from Eastern Europe,
Engineers by education,
keen bridge players (Dima – professionally),
permanently live in the UK
since 1992 (Lena) and 2002 (Dima)
Met in Spain in 2001, married,
had a baby Kotya in December 2004.

Lena: has worked as a researcher and lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Huddersfield University, was in charge of a Gear Research Group at the University for eight years (best result:- major research project was awarded ‘outstanding’ and‘world leading’ marks). Made redundant in 2004
when the University Schools were undergoing major reorganisation.

Dima:a professional bridge player of international
standard, multiple Russian and Ukrainian champion.

Kotya: our Christmas-baby and inspiration to parents at
all times.
